I take this opportunity to extend my most sincere appreciation to all our Diaspora for large turnout during the Diaspora Conference in Frankfurt on 10th May, 2014, and which was extremely successful.

Secondly, I wish to thank the organizers and all those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the Event a memorable one. I commend Vision 2030 Secretariat, Maisha Organization in Frankfurt, MkenyaUjerumani, Mt. Hebron Church, Kenyan artists and the Kenya Embassy Staff for their invaluable contributions.

It was greatly pleasing to see many Kenyans of diverse background and ages who traveled from far and wide to join fellow countrymen and women in celebrating Jubilee. This turnout enabled us to achieve the Conference objectives.

As you remember, the objectives of the Conference were to:

• Celebrate our 50th Year of our Independence together as Kenyans

• Create linkage and networking among Kenyans from different parts of Germany

• Bring to the attention of Kenyans the investment opportunities within Vision 2030

• Showcase successful Kenyan business models in Germany

• Sensitize the Diaspora on the roles of the Kenya Embassy in Germany

• Sensitize the Diaspora on their human rights and opportunities in Germany

• Share experiences from students and professionals' perspectives

I have no doubt that, from your enthusiasm and confidence to invest back home, confirms the bright future for our dear country Kenya. As you are aware, the Diaspora is the single biggest asset outside the country for the development roles played through your remittances.

Therefore, on behalf of the Kenya Embassy Embassy in Berlin, I would like to thank Prof. Gituro Wainaina, Ag. Director, Vision 2030 Secretariat, for accepting to be the key speaker at the Conference and all the presenters for their useful insights and interventions. As the Embassy, we always look forward to work closely with you dear fellow Kenyans in different levels of engagement.

Dear Compatriots,

Fellow Kenyans. I wish to inform you that the Kenya Embassy Berlin is organizing a Kenyan Diaspora Day on 10th May, 2014, in Frankfurt (Am main), as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations. I am pleased to invite and welcome all Kenyans in Germany. A detailed programme shall soon be posted on our website. We envisage to start the programme at 12.00 noon to enable enough time to focus on our Country as we also network and sample the beautiful Kenyan attires I look forward to see.

I invite any Kenyan group or individual performing artist as part of your contribution to this historic celebration to perform or make Kenyan cultural presentation. This can range from cultural dances to cultural costumes/fashion. I urge those with presentations to indicate their participation to the Embassy to facilitate programme scheduling.

I look forward to an interactive session to reflect on our common history and heritage and together work out ways in which we shall be engaging in building our beautiful Country for the future.

I urge you to bring this message to the attention of our Kenyan brothers and sisters who may not have opened our Webpage. The Venue is at:

August-Schanz-Strasse 33-35
